Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen): Information on Nora Owen  Zoom on Nora Owen  I am informed by the Garda authorities that during the course of extensive investigations carried out into the murder of Veronica Guerin and associated matters, the activities of a former garda came to adverse notice. He stands remanded on a number of charges involving unlawful possession of a firearm and corruption. Furthermore, a file has been forwarded to the DPP for directions in relation to other possible charges. I am satisfied that it would be inappropriate for me to comment any further at this stage.
