  11.  Mr. J. Bruton  Information on John Bruton  Zoom on John Bruton   asked the Taoiseach  Information on Bertie Ahern  Zoom on Bertie Ahern   the status and role of a person (details supplied) in his Department. [14673/97]

The Taoiseach: Information on Bertie Ahern  Zoom on Bertie Ahern  The status of the person in question is that of programme manager and special adviser to the Taoiseach. His role is very similar to that of his predecessor but he concentrates more on the administrative, financial and economic areas.

Mr. J. Bruton: Information on John Bruton  Zoom on John Bruton  Do his responsibilities extend, as reported in the newspapers, to canvassing Fianna Fáil Deputies in regard to the presidential candidacy?

The Taoiseach: Information on Bertie Ahern  Zoom on Bertie Ahern  They certainly do not and he certainly did not.

Mr. Yates: Information on Ivan Yates  Zoom on Ivan Yates  Did the Taoiseach vote the wrong way?
