Mr. McGuinness
asked the
Minister for Education and Science
if he will give an up to date report on a person (details supplied) in Carlow who is still out of school due to the fact that no place can be found for him in local schools; and if his Department will insist on his old school taking him back if only on a trial period to prove himself.
[6447/99]
[1024]Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin):
My Department's psychological service is actively involved in this case and every effort is being made to secure a suitable educational placement at the earliest possible date. However, my Department is not in a position to compel schools to accept individual pupils for enrolment.
