Mr. R. Bruton
asked the
Minister for Education and Science
the plans, if any, he has to authorise the move of the brailling of books for primary and secondary school children from Arbor Hill to University College Dublin; and if he will provide funds for the move.
[7658/99]
Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin):
My Department is currently in discussion with the authorities at University College Dublin in relation to the matter raised by the Deputy.
The objective is to secure agreement on the utilisation of the college's brailling facilities for the production of braille books for children attending first and second level schools. The question of funding for any such activity will be addressed in the discussions.
