An Ceann Comhairle: Information on Séamus Pattison  Zoom on Séamus Pattison  I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Cecilia Keaveney – the closure of Glenveagh mushroom plant in Newtowncunningham and the need for urgent action to be taken to address the unemployment situation; (2) Deputy Gormley – the urgent need to introduce legislation for security of tenure in light of the huge increases in rents and the increase in the number of evictions; (3) Deputy Sargent – the need to introduce independent supervision of voting by people with mental disabilities in light of serious reports of malpractice in polling stations in the recent elections; (4) Deputy Gay Mitchell – the proposed changes in the community employment scheme and the detrimental effect this will have on the most disadvantaged communities; (5) Proinsias De Rossa – the refusal of entry to the State and subsequent deportation of a Japanese woman (details supplied); (6) Deputy Perry – the application of his Department's rule on substantial loss of employment and the impact of changes in qualification criteria for benefits in relation to the employees of N.C.F. marts.

The matters raised by Deputies Keaveney, Gormley, Perry and De Rossa have been selected for discussion.
