[25710/99]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Mr. Walsh): Information on Joe Walsh  Zoom on Joe Walsh  The person named applied for premium on 20 cows under the 1999 suckler cow premium scheme and 20 beef cows under the 1999 cattle headage on 2 June 1999. It has been established by my Department that the applicant is entitled to payment on 19 cows in respect of the schemes in question.

The person named lodged his area aid application on 27 April 1999 which was two working days late. The consequences of this late lodgment is the application of a 2% penalty on all headage and premia scheme payments for 1999. Therefore, the person named is entitled to payment on 19 animals with a 2% reduction penalty.

A 60% advance of £1,487.44 – 19 cows with a 2% late penalty – under the suckler cow premium scheme issued to day. The 1999 cattle headage payment will issue within the next two weeks.
