  167.  Mr. Lawlor  Information on Liam Lawlor  Zoom on Liam Lawlor   asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government  Information on Noel Dempsey  Zoom on Noel Dempsey   the status of the Lucan library project; if all construction and internal works are completed; if library book stocks are in place; and if a date has been set for the official and public opening. Minister for the Environment and Local Government, (Mr. Dempsey): Information on Noel Dempsey  Zoom on Noel Dempsey  In May 1999 my Department approved grant-aid of £600,000 for the purchase of bookstock and the fitting out of the library in Lucan. An annual subvention of 50% of the cost of leasing the library will also be provided by my Department.

Otherwise, progress on the project is a matter for the local authority.
