Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy): Information on Charlie McCreevy  Zoom on Charlie McCreevy  I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders:

(1) The proceedings in the Select Committee on Finance and the Public Service on the Finance Bill, 2000, shall be brought to a conclusion in accordance with the following timetable:–

Tuesday, 29th February Chapters 1 and 2 (part) of Part 1 (covering sections 1 to 11) 1.00 p.m.
Chapter 2 (contd.) of Part 1 (covering sections 12 to 18) 4.30 p.m.
Chapter 2 (contd.) of Part 1 (covering sections 19 to 25) 6.00 p.m.
Wednesday, 1st March Chapters 3 and 4 (part) of Part 1 (covering sections 26 to 42) 12.30 p.m.
Chapter 4 (contd.) of Part 1 (covering sections 43 to 59) 4.30 p.m.
Chapters 5, 6 and 7 of Part 1 (covering sections 60 to 72) 6.00 p.m.

Thursday, 2nd March Parts 2 and 3 (covering sections 73 to 105) 12 noon
Parts 4, 5 and 6 (covering sections 106 to 131) 3.30 p.m.

and where proceedings have not concluded by the stated time, they shall be brought to a conclusion by one Question, which shall be put from the Chair, and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only those set down or accepted by the Minister for Finance or a Minister of State, nominated as substitute on his behalf.

(2) Where a division is claimed on the proceedings on the Finance Bill, 2000, in the Select Committee on Finance and the Public Service, other than on a Question put as provided for in accordance with paragraph (1), the taking of such division and the putting of any Question contingent thereon shall be postponed until—

(a) immediately before the time next appointed for the putting of the Question in accordance with paragraph (1), or

(b) in the event of such Question not being put, when proceedings in Committee on the matters which would have been decided by the putting of such Question have been otherwise completed.

(3) The Select Committee shall, in accordance with Standing Order 79B, send a message to the Dáil in relation to the completion of its consideration of the Finance Bill, 2000, not later than Tuesday, 7th March, 2000.
