  151.  Mr. Ring  Information on Michael Ring  Zoom on Michael Ring   asked the Minister for Health and Children  Information on Micheál Martin  Zoom on Micheál Martin   the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, placed on a waiting list for physiotherapy last October, only discovered on telephoning Mayo General Hospital in April 2000 that the GP referral scheme was withdrawn; and the proposals, if any, to ensure this person gets adequate physiotherapy. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): Information on Micheál Martin  Zoom on Micheál Martin  The provision of services in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

I have, therefore, asked the regional chief executive to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.
