  245.  Ms Clune  Information on Deirdre Clune  Zoom on Deirdre Clune   asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government  Information on Noel Dempsey  Zoom on Noel Dempsey   the reason an application for funding from Cork Corporation to repair quay walls in the city was not granted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey): Information on Noel Dempsey  Zoom on Noel Dempsey  No proposal for repairs to quay walls has been prioritised to my Department by Cork Corporation under the specific improvement grants scheme.

It would be open to Cork Corporation to consider funding the cost of such works from its general block grant allocation for non-national roads which this year amounts to some £1.2 million.
