  326.  Mr. O'Shea      asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government      the current position with regard to the Cheekpoint sewerage scheme, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21953/00]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey):    This scheme has been approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative and I understand that Waterford County Council is currently in the course of preparing contract documents. On receipt of the contract documents in my Department for approval, they will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
