  321.  Mr. O'Shea  Information on Brian O'Shea  Zoom on Brian O'Shea   asked the Minister for Education and Science  Information on Michael J. Woods  Zoom on Michael J. Woods   the proposals he has to introduce courses for audiologists and audiological scientists, in view of the fact that no such courses exist here at present; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): Information on Michael J. Woods  Zoom on Michael J. Woods  My officials have consulted with officials from the Department of Health and Children and have been informed that that Department is not aware of any demand from health service employers for a training programme for audiologists or audiological scientists.

Neither the Higher Education Authority nor my Department has received proposals from their third level institutions seeking to introduce courses in audiology.
