  244.  Mr. McCormack      asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development      the total grant to Bord na gCon for 1999, 2000 and 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13969/01]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Mr. Walsh):    The total grant-in-aid paid to Bord na gCon in 1999, 2000 and 2001 is as follows:

*Under the Horse and Greyhound Racing Bill, 2001, I propose to provide a further £9.276 million to Bord na gCon this year in addition to the £4.5 million grant-in-aid already allocated.
