Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy): Information on Charlie McCreevy  Zoom on Charlie McCreevy  The information requested by the Deputy is as follows:

Year Betting Duty Net Receipts
1998 £52.14 million (66.2 million)
1999 £53.4 million (67.8 million)
2000 £46.36 million (58.9 million)
2001 (9 months to end Sept.) £41.1 million (52.2 million)

The betting duty was reduced from 10% to 5% with effect from 1 July 1999.
