An Leas-Cheann Comhairle:
I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 31 dealing with two different topics. I will deal with them separately and will call on the Deputies in the order in which they submitted their notices. I received notice from Deputy Healy and I call on him to state the matter.
Mr. Healy:
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of immediate national importance: the failure of the Minister for Education and Science since April 2001 to appoint a single design team for extensions to national schools throughout the country, leaving hundreds of schools nationwide in limbo, with severe overcrowding and unsuitable, unsafe and leaking temporary accommodation.
An Leas-Cheann Comhairle:
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be contemplated by Standing Order 31. I received notice from Deputy Sargent in regard to the second topic and I now call on him to raise the matter.
Mr. Sargent:
I wish Dáil Éireann to be adjourned to address the deep concerns of all employed at and depending upon Aer Lingus, which faces a most uncertain future that depends on the result of the pilots' vote on strike action, which will be known tomorrow at midday.
An Leas-Cheann Comhairle:
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be contemplated by Standing Order 31.
