  312.  Mr. McGuinness  Information on John McGuinness  Zoom on John McGuinness   asked the Minister for Health and Children  Information on Micheál Martin  Zoom on Micheál Martin   if he will request the South Eastern Health Board to restore the hours of home care in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny and grant extra hours in view of this person's medical condition. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): Information on Micheál Martin  Zoom on Micheál Martin  Responsibility for the provision of health services in the Kilkenny area rests with the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.

  313.  Mr. G. Mitchell  Information on Gay Mitchell  Zoom on Gay Mitchell   asked the Minister for Health and Children  Information on Micheál Martin  Zoom on Micheál Martin   if he will make a statement on the public health needs of Inchicore and Bluebell (details attached). [18172/02]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): Information on Micheál Martin  Zoom on Micheál Martin  Responsibility for the provision of services to cater for public health needs within its functional area, is a matter for the relevant health board or the Eastern Regional Health Authority, ERHA. In the case of Bluebell and Inchicore this responsibility lies with the ERHA. My Department has asked the regional chief executive officer of the ERHA to investigate the matters raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
