Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey):    I propose to take Questions Nos. 298 and 299 together.

Provision for the three Irish scholarship schemes and the Easter week commemoration scholarship scheme is made under a single university scholarships allocation within my Department. The relevant allocations in this regard for the past five years, and for 2002, are as follows: 1997, €439,329; 1998, €476,152; 1999, €528,211; 2000, €660,264; 2001, €732,639; 2002, €876,000.
