Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy):
I propose to take Questions Nos. 207 and 211 together.
It is assumed that what the Deputy requires is the number of PAYE and self-employed income earners on the income tax record in the ranges of income specified for each of the past five years. I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the information requested by the Deputy is as follows:
Distribution of PAYE income earners on tax records, including tax exempt individuals, by ranges of income(1) A married couple who has elected or has deemed to have elected for joint assessment is counted as one tax unit.
(2) The figures for 2000-01 onwards are projected estimates and are subject to revision.
