Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform
if the imprisonment of anti-bin tax protesters in Dublin necessitated the release of other prisoners due to overcrowding.

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. McDowell):
The imprisonment of the persons mentioned by the Deputy for contempt of court has not altered the prevailing pattern of temporary releases in any of the prisons in which they are held. The prisons in question are the Dóchas Centre, the Training Unit and Cloverhill Prison.
