Minister for Defence
if the pension of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11 is part of the benchmarking awards; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In the case under reference, the person concerned was formerly employed as a civilian general operative with the Defence Forces. Discussions on the parallel benchmarking process for general operative and related grades in Departments and the State industrial sector are ongoing. The pension of the person referred to will be adjusted, as appropriate, in the normal way by reference to the revisions agreed when the pay talks are concluded and when the mutually agreed criteria for payment of the benchmarking increases to serving staff are met.
