  510.  Mr. Ring  Information on Michael Ring  Zoom on Michael Ring   asked the Minister for Education and Science  Information on Mary Hanafin  Zoom on Mary Hanafin   when funding will be provided to a school (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that all planning stages were completed early in 2004; when funding will be available for this project; when this matter will proceed to tender stage; and when will construction commence. Minister for Education and Science (Ms Hanafin): Information on Mary Hanafin  Zoom on Mary Hanafin  The PE hall for the school referred to by the Deputy is at the stage of advanced architectural planning and my Department’s officials have received a combined stage 4/5 — detail design/bill of quantities — submission from the school authorities.

My officials are nearing completion of a review of all projects which did not proceed to construction as part of the 2004 school building programme, including the school referred to by the Deputy. All projects are being assessed against the published prioritisation criteria, agreed earlier this year with the education partners. Each project will be assigned a band rating and the progress of all projects will be considered in the context of the school building programme from 2005 onwards.
