  241.  Cecilia Keaveney  Information on Cecilia Keaveney  Zoom on Cecilia Keaveney   asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government  Information on Dick Roche  Zoom on Dick Roche   the delay on the progress of a scheme (details supplied) in County Donegal being put out for tender; when works are due to start; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [37377/05]

Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Mr. Roche): Information on Dick Roche  Zoom on Dick Roche  The Malin town sewerage scheme has been approved for funding in my Department’s water services investment programme 2004-2006 under the rural towns and villages initiative. My Department approved the preliminary report for this scheme in June 2004, subject to a review of the proposed phasing of the scheme and of the water services pricing policy report which calculates the value of the contribution required from the non-domestic sector towards the capital cost of the scheme.

Revised phasing proposals received from the council in May were approved by my Department in July 2005. The revised water services pricing policy report subsequently submitted by the council is under consideration in the Department and is being dealt with as quickly as possible. The council will be in a position to prepare contract [1048]documents for the scheme once the water services pricing policy report has been approved.
