Mr. Durkan
asked the
Minister for Agriculture and Food
if and when a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will qualify for installation aid; if consideration will be given due to age issue; if same will be reviewed; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
[39555/06]
Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mary Coughlan):
The person concerned submitted an application for payment (IAS 2) under the Installation Aid Scheme to my Department on 8 September 2006. However, additional information was required from the applicant and this is currently being examined. The applicant will be notified of the outcome of the application as soon as possible.

Mr. Durkan
asked the
Minister for Agriculture and Food
if and when a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will qualify for national reserve; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
[39556/06]
Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mary Coughlan):
As indicated in an earlier reply to the Deputy, the person named submitted an application for an allocation of entitlements from the 2005 Single Payment Scheme National Reserve under Category A.
Category A caters for farmers who inherited land or received land free of charge or for a nominal sum from a farmer who had retired or died before 16 May, 2005 and who had leased out his/her holding to a third party during the reference period 2000 to 2002. The person named was not successful under this category as the land acquired was not received free of charge or for a nominal sum.
As the person named commenced farming after 31 December 2002, he may be in a position to qualify for an allocation under the 2006 National Reserve as a new entrant to farming. My [414]Department forwarded a 2006 National Reserve application form to the person named for his attention. The person named has completed this application form and has returned it to my Department.
The processing of the 2006 National Reserve applications will commence shortly. A formal letter outlining my Department’s decision on the National Reserve will issue to the person named as soon as his application has been processed.
