Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Deputy Brendan Smith): Information on Brendan Smith  Zoom on Brendan Smith  Following an on-the-spot REPS inspection carried out by my officials on 8 October 2008, the person named was found to be non-compliant with his undertakings under Measure 3 (fencing of wells and boreholes), Measure 5 (maintaining farm and field boundaries) and Biodiversity Option 5A (hedgerow rejuvenation). Penalties totalling 45% were imposed. The person named appealed the decision to the Agriculture Appeals Office, which overturned the 15% penalty for non-compliance with Measure 3 but upheld the other penalties.
