  147.  Deputy Michael McGrath  Information on Michael McGrath  Zoom on Michael McGrath   asked the Minister for Transport  Information on Noel Dempsey  Zoom on Noel Dempsey   if his Department has received any proposal from Cork City Council regarding plans to introduce a public bicycle scheme similar to that put in place by Dublin City Council this year. Minister for Transport (Deputy Noel Dempsey): Information on Noel Dempsey  Zoom on Noel Dempsey  My Department received an application under the Smarter Travel Project Fund from Cork City Council regarding a proposed feasibility study for a public bike scheme. A total of 121 applications for funding were received, and on this occasion, this application from the Council has not been successful. However, there are other projects in the Cork City area short-listed for funding under the Smarter Travel Project Fund.
