Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Deputy Brendan Smith): Information on Brendan Smith  Zoom on Brendan Smith  My Department has received EU approval for the introduction of a number of new on-farm investment schemes, including the provision of grant-aid for dairy equipment, water conservation, and sheep fencing and mobile handling facilities. However, due to the relatively short time-frames for completion of work, my priority has been the introduction of the Poultry and Sow Welfare Schemes which were launched on 16 June last. I now intend to progress the three remaining schemes. However, no dates have yet been fixed for their introduction.
