Minister for Justice and Equality
the number of persons arrested and charged with drink driving in the Garda R and J districts in the years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and to date in 2011; the number of drivers convicted in each of the years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In the time available it has not been possible for the Garda authorities to supply the information relating to the number of arrested requested by the Deputy. I will be in contact with the Deputy when the information is to hand.
