  356.  Deputy Áine Collins      asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport      if he will provide details of any grants available to assist community groups to provide an astro turf facility in their area. [8357/11]

[584]Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport (Deputy Leo Varadkar):    Under the Sports Capital Programme, funding is allocated to sporting and to voluntary and community organisations at local, regional and national level throughout the country. No decision has been made on the timing of the next round of the Programme. While no new call for applications for funding has been made since 2008 a provision of €33m has been provided in this year’s estimates to cover the payment of grants previously allocated.
