Seanad Eireann Debate
Vol. 101 No. 3

An Cathaoirleach: Information on Patrick J. Reynolds  Zoom on Patrick J. Reynolds  When is it proposed to sit again?

Professor Dooge: Information on James CI Dooge  Zoom on James CI Dooge  It is proposed to sit again tomorrow morning at 10.30. The purpose of that sitting is to take the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Bill. I also intend to order the EEC motion. But the question of whether we actually discuss the EEC motion will depend how the debate on the Local Government Bill develops.

Mrs. Honan: Information on Tras Honan  Zoom on Tras Honan  Could I ask Senator Dooge when he intends to take the Criminal Justice (Community Service) Bill?

Professor Dooge: Information on James CI Dooge  Zoom on James CI Dooge  That Bill has been with us for some time. I had indeed hoped that we might take it either today or tomorrow but with the amount of business which we have I see little hope of it [352] being taken tomorrow. Equally I see little prospect of legislation coming through the Dáil this week so that I have a firm hope that we can take the Community Service Bill next week. We should sit on Tuesday for the Postal and Telecommunications Services Bill and I would hope that we would continue then on Wednesday to take the Committee Stage of the Local Government Bill and take the Criminal Justice (Community Service) Bill and possibly the EEC motion. We have lots of work to do.
